This table lamp, also known as a veilleuse or night lamp, was made by French glassblowers Muller Frères.
They are best known for producing Art Nouveau glassware, such as vases and lampshades.
The underside of the base is engraved with: JED – ROBJ – Breveté S.G.D.G. – Paris. From this, we can deduce that the creation of this lamp was a collaboration between Muller Frères and ROBJ, a design and retail company.
ROBJ is an anagram of Jean Born, who founded his company specialising in ceramic innovations and lighters.
Instead of producing anything themselves, they had pieces made to order and sold them under their own name.
